Polaris Library Systems to Debut New PAC Interface at ALA Annual

Syracuse, NY, June 22, 2011 - Polaris Library Systems,a leading provider of library automation technology, will be showcasing its next generation Polaris PowerPAC offerings at the ALA Annual Meeting in New Orleans (June 24-27, 2011).

Polaris PowerPAC offers a fresh face, while building on the success of enhancements made in Polaris 4.0. Those features included multilingual offerings for both Mobile and PowerPAC, auto-suggest functionality, and extended support for popular smart phones for Mobile PAC. With PowerPAC 4.1 Polaris will be unveiling more new features, including:
  • A fresh, modern look-and-feel for the PowerPAC with updated format icons
  • A single, print-friendly product page that allows easy customization of content from third party providers
  • Text messaging of item availability, and text message notices(holds, fine/fees)in multiple languages
  • Searchable Community Profiles, which allow libraries to easily connect users to community organizations and events

Following its debut at the ALA Annual, the redesigned Polaris PowerPAC and Community Profiles integration will be available to customers with the release of Polaris 4.1 in early 2012.
