“It's great to be able to customize the Polaris checkout screen with patron data elements of our choice.  It maximizes the efficiency of the checkout process.  And with 15 agencies circulating over 7.1 million items per year, it matters.”

- Eva Calcagno, Manager, Washington County Cooperative Library Services, Oregon

Polaris Library Systems Continues Strong Growth; Reaches 59 Signed Contracts in 2011

Fourth quarter successes add 10 new customers and 56 locations

Dallas, TX, January 20, 2012 - Polaris Library Systems, a pioneer in the development of library technology solutions for public, private and academic libraries, today announces that it ends 2011 with a total of 59 signed contracts, up from 27 signed contracts in 2010. These contracts represent a total of 285 new library locations and 41 new customers for the year.

Polaris has experienced steady growth over the last several years by expanding its customer base and growing its business with current customers. High customer satisfaction ratings - for both the Polaris ILS and its service and support - have helped the company consistently earn new business from both public and academic libraries.

"Our continued success stems from a basic philosophy that Polaris has had since day one - we are simply in the business of helping libraries serve their communities," said Bill Schickling, president and CEO, Polaris Library Systems."That mission guides everything that we do; from product development to support and service. We understand that what we're providing to our partner libraries goes beyond an ILS. We're promising to help them build a strong connection between the library and its patrons and users. We're pledging to help promote the library, to help reduce costs, to streamline processes, to free up resources. Our success relies on the success of the libraries that we serve."

The latest additions to the Polaris customer list, and their previous ILS systems, include

  • Santa Monica Public Library, CA (Symphony)
  • Kitsap Regional Library, WA (Symphony)
  • Dayton Metro Public Library, OH (Horizon)
  • Alachua County Library District, FL. (Symphony)
  • Winterset Public Library, IA (Symphony)
  • Calabasas Public Library, CA (Follett)
