Jim Carrick Appointed Chairman of the Board Syracuse, NY, May 11, 2010 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that Jim Carrick has been appointed chairman of the board of PLS Solutions Inc., the holding company of Polaris Library Systems. PLS Solutions was formed in December 2009, when Polaris Library Systems transitioned to employee ownership. Carrick joined Polaris at that time, and he's a shareholder in the company. Prior to forming PLS Solutions, Polaris was owned by Croydon Corporation, a private equity firm in New York City. The decision to appoint Carrick as chairman was made at a board meeting on April 26. "Jim has extensive experience in strategic planning and business development," said Bill Schickling, president & CEO of Polaris. "I am looking forward to working closely with Jim to ensure that Polaris continues to grow and succeed well into the future." Prior to joining Polaris, Jim was president & CEO of Strategic Computer Solutions (SCS), headquartered in Syracuse. As a Premier IBM Business Partner, SCS provided its customers with business consulting, professional services, IT infrastructure solutions, e-business solutions, and a managed partner network. SCS was recognized as one of IBM's top ten business partners, out of 1,100 in the U.S., as a result of significantly high customer satisfaction and revenue growth. SCS's revenues grew from $12 million in 2000 to over $100 million in 2008. Prior to SCS, Jim spent eighteen years at IBM, where he held various sales and executive management positions. "Polaris has an outstanding reputation in the library automation marketplace," said Carrick. "I look forward to working closely with Bill and the rest of the PLS Solutions board to enhance the services and solutions we provide to our customers and the library industry."### About Polaris Library Systems:
