“It's great to be able to customize the Polaris checkout screen with patron data elements of our choice.  It maximizes the efficiency of the checkout process.  And with 15 agencies circulating over 7.1 million items per year, it matters.”

- Eva Calcagno, Manager, Washington County Cooperative Library Services, Oregon

Polaris Library Systems Welcomes New Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Syracuse, NY, August 31, 2011 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that Scott McCausland will assume the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing as of September 1.

Scott McCausland started at Polaris as Director, Library Development, in February. Prior, he was Regional Vice President of Sales for NetDeposit, and held multiple positions at Dynix/SirsiDynix from 1998-2008 with his final responsibility being Vice President of North American Sales for SirsiDynix.

"I found a home at Polaris because of shared values: character, capability, and commitment, inspired by an overriding desire to help librarians serve their communities," said McCausland. "These values are fundamental at Polaris and in my new role I will see that they remain central to every relationship."

"We are very excited to have such a proven sales executive as Scott as a part of the Polaris family," said Bill Schickling, president and CEO of Polaris Library Systems. "Working with Scott firsthand over the last six months, I have seen his tremendous work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to serve libraries and librarians."
