Library Systems Reports Continued Growth
New ILS Sales Increase by 44%
Syracuse, NY, June 19, 2007 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that new sales of the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS) have increased 44% over the first half of last year.
"The response to version 3.3 of the Polaris ILS has been overwhelmingly positive," said Polaris president & CEO, Bill Schickling. "We're finding that many libraries were waiting for the robust functionality and open database that are available today in Polaris."
According to David Bendekovic, vice president, sales and marketing, ILS growth is forecasted to continue throughout the second half of 2007. "Polaris is winning competitive bids against the top ILS vendors, including SirsiDynix and Innovative Interfaces. We are replacing those systems in public libraries throughout North America."
2007 sales are reflective of an annual trend of upward growth in ILS sales for both the Polaris turnkey and hosted product offerings.
