Syracuse, NY, September 4, 2007- Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today the general release of URL Detective, an automated solution to resolve problem URLs in bibliographic records and Web pages.
Designed to streamline workflow from the Polaris ILS, URL Detective enables customers to scan for problem URLs right from the Polaris Shortcut Bar. Polaris users can continue to work on other tasks while URL Detective verifies links in both bibliographic records and Web pages.
In addition to identifying each bibliographic record and the reason for failure, URL Detective enables users to edit or delete broken links directly from the report, saving valuable staff time. URL Detective will also "scrape" Web pages to verify embedded links. Problem links can be exported to a file for further investigation and resolution.
"Polaris Library Systems is committed to delivering solutions to help our customers save time and resources," said Bill Schickling, president & CEO. "URL Detective is designed to do just that by streamlining the labor-intensive process of identifying and correcting problem links. We are excited to offer this service to our customers."
